Frequently Asked Questions about MedITEX IVF
Answers to common questions all around MedITEX and our features.
MedITEX is a software suite for reproductive medicine, built by NEXUS / MEDITEX GmbH in Regensburg, Germany. It covers the clinical IVF record (EMR), a patient portal (MedITEX Connect), digital patient intake (MedITEX Survey) and registry data collection (MedITEX Registry) - purpose-built for fertility clinics since 2007.
MedITEX is developed by NEXUS / MEDITEX GmbH (formerly CRITEX GmbH), founded in 2000 and part of NEXUS AG since 2026. The company specialises exclusively in IT for reproductive medicine and women’s health.
Since 2007. The company was founded in 2000, giving it more than two decades of medical-IT experience and nearly twenty years focused specifically on fertility care.
MedITEX IVF is used by more than 450 clinics in over 50 countries and is available in 14 languages, with millions of documented treatment cycles.
MedITEX spans four areas: IVF software (the clinical EMR), patient services (MedITEX Connect portal, Survey intake, Hope App), data collection (MedITEX Registry) and a network of cooperations and integrations.
MedITEX IVF is an all-in-one electronic medical record (EMR) for fertility clinics of all sizes, supporting all departments of a fertility clinic, from embryologists to doctors, nurses, and management. It covers the entire clinical IVF workflow -from patient management and cycle documentation to the embryology lab, quality assurance and statistics - in one integrated system.
It supports every role in a fertility clinic - clinicians, embryologists, nurses and management - each with tailored views and workflows within the same system. More info at www.ivf.software/#Roles.
Dedicated embryology and andrology sections cover pathology results, semen analysis, cryostorage tracking and embryo assessment, with a clear structure and full traceability.
Yes. MedITEX IVF provides cycle documentation, quality assurance and statistical analysis, plus business-intelligence reports to support management decisions.
MedITEX IVF helps clinics save time by automating administrative tasks, offering detailed reporting and KPI tracking, integrating laboratory and ultrasound data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The EMR additionally makes it possible for all departments to communicate with each other, saving precious time.
Yes. MedITEX is designed for multi-site fertility networks, giving consolidated groups one integrated platform across all locations instead of fragmented, separate systems.
MedITEX IVF is designed for fertility clinics of all sizes, including small clinics, providing the same powerful tools and features for efficient workflow management.
Yes. MedITEX manages IVF donation and donor workflows, including reciprocal IVF (ROPA) for same-sex couples, with safe and traceable documentation. Learn more at www.meditex.cloud/blog/reciprocal-ivf.
MedITEX Connect is a patient portal for fertility clinics. Patients securely exchange messages and documents with the clinic and manage their appointments, reducing phone calls and keeping everyone aligned throughout treatment.
Yes. Patients view available slots and book directly; appointments sync automatically with the MedITEX Scheduler and can be exported as ICS files. Clinics control appointment types, lead times and confirmation rules.
Yes. Connect is fully mobile-optimised and white-label - clinics apply their own logo and colours for a consistent brand experience.
Connect integrates directly with MedITEX IVF and the Scheduler. Patient demographics and appointments stay in sync automatically, so clinic teams never enter data twice.
MedITEX Survey is a digital anamnesis module for fertility care. It digitises patient history and intake, replacing paper questionnaires with structured, customisable online forms.
MedITEX Survey is currently in development. Contact us at meditex@nexus-meditex.de to be notified as soon as it launches.
MedITEX Registry is a standalone system for collecting and managing IVF data from many clinics - regardless of which EMR each clinic uses - for national registries and clinic associations.
Yes. Registry is EMR-agnostic: a modern import API accepts data from diverse clinical systems, and MedITEX IVF supports the interface natively.
Two options: as a cloud SaaS solution operated by NEXUS / MEDITEX, or embedded within the registry’s own infrastructure - a fully encapsulated subsystem with its own user and access management.
MedITEX Registry is for national competent authorities, registry organisations and clinic associations that need consistent, reliable IVF data collection independent of individual clinic systems.
MedITEX integrates with a wide range of third-party systems and devices used in fertility clinics, including ultrasound, laboratory and semen analyzers, time-lapse systems, RI Witness, eWitness and IMT Matcher, as well as fingerprint readers and Active Directory. It also supports HL7, LDT and REST API interfaces, SMS and ePayment solutions, national registries and integrations with partners such as Cryos International, SalveHealth, cercle, Hope Fertility, FertilAI, FAIrtility and LensHooke. This allows clinics to connect their existing technology and systems with MedITEX and streamline data exchange across the clinic.
Yes. MedITEX provides a modern import API (used by MedITEX Registry) and a range of system interfaces to connect with clinical and laboratory software.
Yes. MedITEX interfaces with laboratory devices and analyzers, such as the LensHooke semen analyzer, to bring results directly into the clinical record.
MedITEX applies controlled access management, encrypted communication (for example in Connect and Registry) and its Sec+ security layer, which provides context-based, just-in-time access to sensitive records.
Sec+ is an added security layer for MedITEX IVF: intelligent, context-based protection that limits patient-data access to when and where it is needed, with centralised control and enhanced integrity.
As a German provider working exclusively with sensitive medical data, MedITEX builds data protection into the platform through encryption, controlled access and the Sec+ security layer. Contact us for detailed information on GDPR and our security measures.
Hosting depends on the setup: MedITEX Registry can run as a cloud SaaS operated by NEXUS / MEDITEX or embedded on your own infrastructure, and MedITEX IVF deployment is arranged to fit each clinic’s requirements. Contact us to discuss hosting and data-residency options.

Unlike general EMRs, MedITEX is purpose-built for reproductive medicine and the specific workflows of fertility clinics. Cycle management, embryology, andrology, cryostorage, donor workflows and registry reporting are native capabilities rather than add-ons. MedITEX also connects with a wide range of laboratory systems, medical devices and other third-party solutions, allowing data to flow seamlessly between systems. All of this is integrated into one platform designed specifically around the needs of IVF clinics.
Not all “all-in-one” solutions are equal. Real value comes from how well the modules interface with each other and how usable the system is day to day. MedITEX focuses on integrated workflows and proven usability across every role.
Clinics choose MedITEX for its exclusive focus on reproductive medicine since 2007, its all-in-one workflow across every clinic role, strong system interfaces and a dedicated support team.
In reciprocal IVF (ROPA) one partner provides the eggs and the other carries the pregnancy. MedITEX documents these shared-motherhood cycles with safe, traceable workflows tailored to same-sex couples.
MedITEX structures rich clinical data across the treatment journey, which can support quality management and individualised, data-driven approaches to care. Contact us to learn more.
MedITEX automates submission to national registries through MedITEX Registry and its import API, reducing manual work and making regulatory reporting fast, consistent and reliable.
